Argentum 107

Three malicious demons of Moscow's industrial underground, an elderly punks emerge onto the noise scene to howl curses at an imperfect world.

Argentum-107 was a cross-disciplinary performative poetic Death Industrial project, designed to make the blood in the listeners' veins turn into mercury and evaporate. With its ritual-like performances, devilish charisma and abrasive sounds, the project has secured its place among the Moscow's most harsh, artistic and enigmatic acts.

The project's members are the darkest individuals, whose biographies includes authorship of a legendary pornographic story published in one of Moscow's most popular newspapers in the 1990s, long stints in prison for art collection theft, and furious actions against wicked and incompetent individuals.

In their lyrics, the project touched classiс themes such as death, eternity, duty, love, and freedom. Nervous, screaming declamation is accompanied by an ear-deafening abrasive noise soundtrack with the goal to induce the audience into a trance and compel them to undergo a katabasis to the darkest corners of their minds, purifying and elevating their spirits.

Their performance at the Moscow “DOM" club on the eve of war is the one which stands out. At the months when anxiety was thick in the air and the anticipation of war lurked in every alley, it was incredibly difficult to stay silent about what was about to happen.

In mid 2024 Alexey Rafiev, the project's lyricist, vocalist and structure center has been found dead in his apartment due the unclear circumstances. With his death the project had no choice but to cease any activity to honour the name of the poet.
